Time Alone… disrupted

Today, after a long and relaxing Christmas break followed by her first day back in school, Rayna hung her backpack up after 6 straight hours of being surrounded by kids, talking and constant noise and headed straight to her room.

I know this child well.
And, like me, I understand the desire to just be alone to recharge.

But as much as this sweet girl desperately wanted some time by herself, she loved her sister even more.

So, when Ruthie, filled with excitement to finally see Rayna again, followed her down the hall and onto her bedroom floor, Rayna, like many times before, put Ruthie’s wants ahead of her own.

She picked-up a book and began to quietly read it to Ruthie.

(Yes, Ruthie…   Rayna IS wonderful.
I couldn’t agree more!)
